Quite often, in the process of holding finishing works using siding, it is necessary to make it install it with your own hands. If such a need arose, in the absence of necessary experience in carrying out this kind of work, most experts recommend testing siding on a small object. This will avoid unreasonable material costs.
Getting Started Siding, first of all you should choose the necessary tool. Modern siding installation instructions provide for the use of a fine-toothed saw (metal saw), metal shears, a screwdriver, a hammer, a tape measure, a metal ruler, a square, a building level, scaffolding and a good ladder. Pretty good help will be the presence of a grinder and an assistant, since such work is best done together.
It is possible to carry out the installation of siding almost at any time from spring to autumn, as well as in winter, provided that the ambient temperature is not lower than 10 degrees below zero. If the work will be carried out at temperatures below 0 degrees, then the possibility of splitting the siding during its processing should be taken into account. In this case, you need to process the material only with a saw with a fine tooth or a grinder.
Installation of siding should begin with the manufacture of the crate. The easiest way to make such a design is from dry wood. Its humidity should not exceed 12-15%. It is not recommended to use wet wood, since it can change its configuration during the drying process, as a result of which the siding is also deformed. Also, if the walls in the house are brick, foam concrete, aerated concrete or the like, the crate can be made from a galvanized profile.
The construction of the crate is due to the need to create an air gap under the siding, which prevents the appearance of mold and fungi, as well as the unevenness of the walls. Before fastening, the crate must be treated with fire and bioprotective materials. Insulation material can be placed in the resulting space of the crate.
Fastening the siding to the crate is carried out using self-tapping screws or nails. But since the siding is subject to thermal expansion, it is necessary to leave a gap of 1-2 mm between the head of the self-tapping screw (nail) and the sheet of material.
