Making a foundation for the construction of a building is quite a troublesome and costly process. Especially if all the work is done by one’s own hands. This is due to the fact that in the first place it is necessary to purchase materials, and then independently carry out a range of works, characterized by large volume and manufacturability.
Four types of foundations are currently used in the construction of structures for a wide variety of purposes. These are slab, post, pile and strip foundations. Each of them, in turn, is subdivided into subspecies, although the principle of their construction is the same, and almost everywhere crushed granite is used. It should be noted that most private homes are built on a strip foundation of shallow and deepened type.
Before erecting a building, you should decide on the most appropriate type of foundation.
Before starting the work, the foundation is marked out. At this stage it is very important to adhere to the manufactured scheme. After that, the digging of trenches or drilling of soil is carried out, depending on the type of foundation chosen. If a strip or slab foundation is formed, then the next step is to create a formwork for pouring the concrete mixture. Do not forget about the formation of a sand cushion.
The height of the formwork will depend on the type of soil on which the construction work is carried out, as well as the annual precipitation in the region. If there is a large amount of snowfall, it is better to erect a high basement. It is very important that the upper level on the formwork is placed strictly horizontally.
When constructing the foundation, the concrete should be reinforced with rebar. After that the foundation is poured. It is most convenient, in this case, to use imported concrete, because it makes it possible to save time for its preparation, although in this case the financial costs increase.
Knowing some basic subtleties of foundation construction, even with minimal knowledge and skills, you can form such a structure yourself. The main thing is to carry out a qualitative study of the soil and obtain all the necessary permits before starting all the work.
